AMAZING!! This is not my photo, but I sure do love it!
It is a picture of Jerry Garcia performing in front of the Grateful Dead’s “Wall of Sound” PA system. The system, created by audio engineer Owsley Stanley for the band’s 1974 tour, weighed over 70 tons and included hundreds of speakers and amplifiers, standing over three stories tall. (A story can be anywhere between 10 feet to 14 feet. At a minimum this “wall” was 30 feet high!!)To keep the height of the photo to a more manageable size, I cropped off the top four rows of amps.
