In the woods behind my house there is a fairly large hole in the ground that exposes part of what was a dump sight MANY years ago. I came to Lincoln in 1958, and I don’t remember noticing it until sometime after we moved back to Lincoln in 1989.
The hole is fill full of mostly clear glass bottles of all sorts and sizes…soda pop bottles, alcohol bottles, mason jars, etc. Some are intact, many are not. Also in the mix are random pieces of pottery, china and assorted small pieces of metal. I found this spoon near the edge of the hole. It is sort of fun to wonder why someone threw away what appears to be a good spoon. I put the spoon on the rock and took a photo leaving the spoon behind.
