Walk Down That Lonesome Road

  1. Walk Down That Lonesome Road James Taylor 2:46

This song has become an a cappella treasure since it was released in 1981. And with very good reason!!

I have a poster that says,
Sometimes you need the lyrics and
Sometime you need the music

This song is exactly like that for me. Sometimes I get captivated but the perfect a cappella voices of Taylor’s and his choir on the cut; long time producer, Peter Asher (of 1960’s Peter and Gordon fame), Jim Gilstrap, Bernard Ighner, David Lasley, Arnold McCuller (all three, members of Taylor’s recording/touring backup singers at the time), and guest singer, Jennifer Warnes of “Their Has To Be A Morning After” and the duet “Up Where We Once Belong”, among other songs.

And then sometimes I get caught up in the sad lyrics that echo the ideas that “You are responsible for both your actions and your reactions”…especially those bad actions, and that, as The Beatles said, “Boy, ya gotta carry that weight”.
