I Won’t Be the Fool Anymore

A nice slow doo-wop ballad from 1957…”I Won’t be The Fool Anymore”. Originally named “The Hearts” the group had to change their name when they learned there was already a group of the same name in the area of Jamiaca, Queens in New York. Thus they became “The Heartbeats.

In the mid fifties James “Shep” Sheppard joined the group as lead vocalist. In 1959 “The Heartbeats” disbanded when “Shep” Sheppard left to form the group Shep and The Limelights (“Daddy’s Home”).
