Over the years I’ve watched several Youtube videos of Wilson Pickett “The Wicked Pickett” performing various songs, and he always excites me. His songs on vinyl were great, but they came alive when you could watch him perform the live.
I was lucky enough to record Wilson Pickett when he was on a variety show in the 80’s hosted by Smokey Robinson. I can’t find any of this video footage on Youtube, so this video of Wilson Pickett singing both 634-5789 AND Mustang Sally is a real treat and a real “keeper”.
