Ah…summer of 1972! One year out of B.U and the proud co-owner of a sub and pizza place right smack dab in the center of Henniker, N.H.; home of New England College and the ONLY Henniker on earth.
I LOVE Tower of Power…wonderful funky guitar riffs, great horn section, and gifted soul composers Emilio Castillo and Stephen “Doc” Kupka. This album, Bump City was the band’s second album. The big hit song on the album was the slow, sad song, “You’re Still a Young Man” that made the Billboard charts, but frankly I much prefer the wonderful funkiness of this song. “I hope it doesn’t show as I’m drivin’ down the road that I had too much to drink.” (Pretty much my mantra back in those days (daze??).
